Cheryl Branz: Music
Racing
(Cheryl Branz)
This one makes me smile because I think anyone who has ever fallen in love (or lust) knows this feeling. I wrote it on a plane flying from Palm Desert, CA back to Spokane, WA. It's my only song where all of the lyrics were written without a guitar.
Well I just saw you
Glance my way
And as you head toward me
I think of what I'll say
'Cause you and I both know
That this is dangerous
I lose all self control
Every time I touch
My heart starts racing
Faster than I care to drive
Making me speed
Through all of my stop signs
My heart it's racing
Shifting into overdrive
Heart is racing
Leaving common sense behind
Now I'm in your arms
I'm looking in your eyes
And you won't let me speak
You kiss me when I try
So I'll just give up
As you hold me tight
And I won't take the blame
For what I do tonight
My heart starts racing
Faster than I care to drive
Making me speed
Through all of my stop signs
My heart it's racing
Shifting into overdrive
Heart is racing
Leaving common sense behind
I should slow it down
I should hit the brakes
I should know by now
That it's too late
My heart starts racing
Faster than I care to drive
Making me speed
Through all of my stop signs
My heart it's racing
Shifting into overdrive
Heart is racing
Leaving common sense behind
