Cheryl Branz: Music

Waiting On A Miracle

(Cheryl Branz)
This song began with the arpeggio pattern on the guitar that underlies the verses. It was my first time using a partial capo and as I continued to play, the phrase, "Waiting on a miarcle" popped into my head. At the time, I had no idea of the song that was about to be born.

Standing in the doorway
Of their old spare room
Freshly painted pink and blue
They're holding hands and smiling wide
They've been told it could be anytime
To welcome home someone brand new

Waiting on a miracle
Waiting
Waiting on a miracle
Waiting

On the other side of town
There's a young girl lying down
Crying for the baby she can't keep
She's been told it could be anytime
She'll give birth and say goodbye
Praying for the strength she knows she'll need

Waiting on a miracle
Waiting
Waiting on a miracle
Waiting

Someday when this child's grown
They'll explain the chosen home
Love gives up and love takes in
It was no small sacrifice
For this little life
The joy the pain
The hopes the fear
The dreams

Waiting on a miracle
Waiting
Waiting on a miracle
Waiting
